The concept of this cooking project
- Your budget is about € 150 for grocery shopping
- Organise a group of 4 to max 5 people
- Prepare a meal for 50 homeless and 5 volunteers of the Stoelenproject (so 55 people altogether)
- The meal should be ready at 1800 pm
- Please clean the kitchen before leaving
- You are welcome to help serve the meal
- Stoelenproject is open at 1.30 pm
The menu
- Please prepare a healthy and nutritious meal: main course with green salade and a desert
- Refrain from using pork in the kitchen, or drinking alcohol
- The homeless prefer a main course with meat, but it is possible to cook vegetarian
- If your main course includes meat, please also prepare a vegetarian meal for 5 people
- if you like to join for dinner, prepare some extra food
- on this website, you will find different recipes you can use
- in case you use your own recipe, here are some standard quantities: 4 kilo pasta- 4 kilo rice – 20 kilo potatoes to make a hotchpotch – 7 kilo meat – 7 kilo vegetables
The kitchen
The Stoelenproject kitchen is well equipped:
- Refrigerator
- Freezer
- Large induction cooker
- Professional oven
- Big pots, pans, and baking trays
- Hand mixer
- Scales
- Cutting boards and knives
- Electrical rice cooker
- Salt and pepper
- There is a cupboard with leftovers. Please have a look before you do your grocery shopping
- Please take care of cleaning the kitchen after you have finished cooking.
Getting there
- Location Stoelenproject: Marnixstraat 248. The building is painted red with white stripes. (underneath the Qpark garage, next to Restaurant de Waterkant)
- Stoelenproject opens daily from 1.30 pm
- Parking: in front of the eitrance of the Stoelenproject there is one free parking spot. A second free spot is in the Qpark garage. Please park your car outside and ask the coördinator in charge of the Stoelenproject for a ticket to enter
